Kian is a dedicated teacher and versatile musician with a passion for helping students find their own musical voice. Since beginning his teaching in 2019, he has worked with a wide range of students and adapts his teaching style to suit individual needs and interests. His approach is centred on flexibility and creativity—whether following exam pathways, using traditional piano methods, or exploring student-led, improvisational learning.
Kian holds an Honours degree in Music (2022) and has a strong foundation in classical piano, having studied under Bahram Dehghanyar, Wendy Lorenz and Sally Greenway. He is also an experienced composer and arranger, with a particular interest in collaborative and cross-genre projects. His compositional work spans from session arranging to large-scale works involving orchestral, choral, and global music traditions.
As a performer, Kian is active across diverse musical scenes. He has played for theatre productions at The Q in Queanbeyan, is a member of the Indian fusion funk band Funkaars, performs with Persian pop ensembles, and writes and plays keyboards for his symphonic metal band Psychopia (formerly Scigod). His wide-ranging musical background brings richness and depth to his teaching practice.

Live music has been a significant part of Lucy's life from a young age. With her parents frequently playing music around the home, she developed a passion for the piano, competing in Hobart Eisteddfods and Launceston competitions where she was awarded the “Edward Wesley Memorial Award for “best pianist”. What drives her most is exploring the incredible range of emotions and genres that music can express— from delicate classical pieces to vibrant contemporary works — an enthusiasm she brings directly into her teaching.
Lucy is a dedicated piano educator with five years of teaching experience and a comprehensive musical background. At Bellchamber's Music School, she taught up to twenty students simultaneously, guiding several through ANZCA, AMEB, and ABRSM examinations. Her own journey from achieving her AMusA Diploma in Piano Performance in 2019 to pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance at ANU has given her a rich understanding of how different instruments and approaches can illuminate the same musical ideas.
As a performer, Lucy has played with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra and mentored young violinists at the 2023 Residential Summer String Camp in Tasmania. Recipient of the Kate Buchdahl Memorial Prize and ANU Whitworth Roach Music Scholarship, she remains as curious and passionate about music as ever.
Whether she is helping a beginner discover the joy of their first successful piece or supporting an advanced student through examination preparation, Lucy draws on her broad musical knowledge to inspire students and help them develop both technical proficiency and genuine musical understanding. Her goal is simple: to pass on the same infectious love of music that has shaped her journey from those early childhood performances to professional training and beyond.
